Position Summary

The Analytics Intern will be a member of the Analytics team. This team is responsible for processing and analyzing internal and external data to make recommendations for strategic and business related decisions for all departments, subsidiaries, and satellite companies. This includes exploring new and existing data sources in cloud-based and on-premises systems, implementing ETL pipelines to extract, transform and load data into a data warehouse, then utilizing that data to build reports, dashboards and visualizations to answer critical business questions. 

Essential Functions

  • Review, evaluate, analyze, and cleanse business data from internal and external data sources.
  • Interpret data sources to extract useful trends and insights for management and executive teams.
  • Create intuitive, informative data visualizations for users across the organization.
  • Communicate findings of analysis to stakeholders via informal discussions, formal reports, and meetings/presentations.
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand their needs and refine data to help them answer questions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of some database technologies and concepts
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages for data analysis (SQL, Python, R or others)
  • Experience using one or more of the following: Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, PowerBI or other similar business intelligence tools
  • Reliable communications skills; able to clearly communicate with people at all levels of the organization; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to make recommendations and explain complex, nuanced ideas to key stakeholders 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management, or similar field.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship. Aerotech does not provide U.S. work authorization sponsorship for this position. OPT and CPT visa holders are not eligible for employment if they will need work authorization sponsorship at any time in the future.
  • Eligible students are those currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Science from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Must maintain a GPA of 3.25 or above. 
  • Currently accepting applications for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors , and current Graduate students.
  • Must currently live and/or go to school in the greater Pittsburgh area. 

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

  • Work is generally performed in an office environment
  • Position is hybrid with the possibility of working remotely for a portion of time 
  • May be required to sit for extended periods of time
  • Some travel (<5 %) domestic and internationally may be required
  • The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
***Note: This is a paid internship, but Aerotech does not provide additional relocation or housing assistance for this position.***
